My Confident Friendships…

I love meeting new people, finding out how others think and see life. It never Friends Togetherfails to open my eyes to the many possibilities, the different ways of seeing things. But even more than that, I love my confident friendships…

A confident friendship, as defined by me (!), is a friendship where you are accepted and loved just the way you are, with all your quirkiness and varying behaviour. Now, it could be said that all friendships should be that way but in reality, they rarely are. My most confident friendship is 33 years young… it has matured!

Confident friendship gives space for you to realise your authentic self and once you have experienced it, you realise just how many layers friendship can have. Confident friendships are the ones that survive every storm, where you respect each other even when you don’t agree and support each other no matter what.

I got to thinking about this term having recently gone and spent some time with my most wonderful of friends and even though we hadn’t seen each other for a long while (years not weeks) it was as comfortable and fun as climbing into my favourite tracksuit bottoms and tucking into a pot of Haagen-Dazs Pralines & Cream (whoops, the secrets out!). The ability to have a deep and meaningful conversation one minute before bursting into fits of laughter the next is magical and if I had nothing else in the world to give thanks for, I’d have that… but thankfully I do!

Do you have a confident friendship and how would you define it? Are all your friendships the same?

My confident friendships are few and far between but invaluable, treasured and appreciated. So to all of my confident friendships (and you know who you are!), I salute you and love you. Thank you for all that you are and all that you bring to my life…

Live Blissfully!
