Clean Up & Clear Out!

I want to encourage you to Clean Up and Clear Out! When you clear out Cleaning2your mind and clean up your physical space you allow for greater alertness, more opportunities to flow in and the capacity to get more done.

One invaluable thing that I did some time ago to de-clutter my mind and my life was to stop watching TV on a daily basis. Actually, my TV blew up so it did me a real favour! I was amazed at how much more productive I became. I wasn’t a 6 hour a day TV person anyway but I still managed to reclaim over 14 hours per week. And the positive impact of not watching the news over and over again is hard to quantify.

Now don’t get me wrong, I do not live in the land of ignorance where I have no idea what is going on in the world around me, I just take the time to make conscious choices about what I watch, read and absorb. And as I do not have a TV in any of my personal rooms (bedroom and office), I have to go to the family room to indulge and thankfully there I can usually find interesting conversations to be a part of instead of watching the TV.

That word ‘absorb’ that I used is a really important one because we are like sponges. We take in information, think about it and filter it, tie emotions to it and feel it. There is only so much of that, that you want to give over to negative occurrences and information.

I believe that if you really want to live your best life, a blissful life that you can be truly grateful for, then the whole focus on de-cluttering will ring true for you as it does for me.

And remember that de-cluttering is something you can apply to every area of your life; relationships career, business, home, spirituality and social. It makes for a happier, more balanced way of being… So clean up & clear out!

Here are some quotes to help you on your way!

“Three Rules of Work: Out of clutter find simplicity; From discord find harmony; In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity.”
Albert Einstein

“The ability to simplify means to eliminate the unnecessary so that the necessary may speak.”
Hans Hoffman

“Use it up, Wear it out; Make it do — Or do without!
Author Unknown (but I love it!)

“Life is simplified when there is one centre; one reason, one motivation, one direction and purpose.
Jean Fleming
